  范文

When I was little, probably around 10 years old, my mom told me an interesting story about a young man who is pretty lazy, but somehow seems to have this magic ability which allows him to make easy money all the time, just like what the fox did in the famous movie Zootopia. I got quite curious about it, and asked mom how he managed to do so. Mom said, ‘he did it with a whole load of tricks, which finally got him into jail.’

Well, here’s the part about how he finally ended up in prison. One day, this young man found himself running out of money, so, ‘time for another scam’, he thought. He then spent every penny he had left on a package tour to Dubai, the wealthiest city in the Middle East, packed with loaded and generous people who spend money like water. The moment he set foot on Dubai, instead of checking in the fancy hotel the travel agency had arranged for him, he went straight to a corner of a busy street, sat down and started to beg for money. He even got a blanket ready to keep himself warm at night. According to what he said later to the police, the reason why he didn’t go back to the fancy hotel after the day is done, is because he wanted to display some professional ethics. Interesting, uh? Anyway, by the end of his trip to Dubai, he had begged 470,000 RMB, which is a ridiculous amount of money impossible for most working-class people to earn in a year. I can’t remember the details on how he got arrested, and to be honest, I didn’t quite realize it was a crime until my mom told me that his tourist visa doesn’t qualify him to work as a beggar in Dubai. The fact that he was fined a huge amount of money in the end has burst quite a few people’s bubble who planned to copy him, according to my mom.

So, I guess the reason why I found this story impressive, is because it’s interesting, and educational as well.
