The subject that I love the most is biology, which is also my major in the university. I started to learn biology when I was in primary school. In Chinese primary schools, basic knowledge about biology, physics and astronomy will be taught in a class called Science. My science teacher told us how to grow flowers and use grapes to make wine. I found myself interested in this field since then. When I was in middle school and started to learn real “biology”, I became one of the best students in biology. Because of my great interest of it, I chose biology as my major in university.
Learning biology is very easy to me. Because I’m curious about everything in biology, I can understand and remember it fast, and feel happy about what I have just learned. But in order to get a higher grade in biology, I still worked hard and was very careful when I read my textbooks.
The reason why I love biology so much is very simple. That is because the world of biology is so amazing and it has a close relationship with myself. There are so many things I can explore, from the big structure of a creature to the tiny principles of a biochemistry reaction. No one can say that human have already understood everything about biology. What’s more, life science is interdisciplinary science, which means that it’s full of challenges. To learn biology well, we need to learn chemistry, physics, math and computer science in the university, because we always need to use methods from other fields to solve problems in biology.
There is another important reason for me to study biology, and that is I want to live better. Biology has a close connection with medical science. So I can know how to keep myself healthy and efficient. Besides, I know many small but important tips in daily life like how to feed a pet well and how to prevent disease. I think learning biology makes my life better and happier, I never regret to have chosen biology as my major and my favorite field.
