东康涅狄格州立大学坐落于康涅狄格州Willimantic市，建于1889年，是一所公立的文科大学。该校占地182英亩，校园绿荫辽阔。学校共有5，239名在校生，为学生提供本科以及研究生课程，包括32个本科主修科目、49个本科副修科目，以及会计学、教育和组织管理等研究生课程。学校一贯致力于创造一种优良的教学环境从而为学生提供高品质的教育，并为学生准备了大量形式各异的跟社会、教育和辅助课程有关的活动，使学生成为更具有竞争力的高材生，为他们将来取得更大的成功奠定了坚实的基础。

该校致力于提供富有挑战性和充满自由艺术的教育，其小班的授课制度人性华的咨询指导和独立的学习机会吸引了当地高中毕业生学生和世界二十多个国家的国际进入该校学习.目前在校学生有5100人，其中本科学生有3700人.2004年有3600多学生申请入读，学校录取了2500多名学生，录取率为69%.近几年的毕业生的就业率为93%。
资源
天文馆，剧院，画廊，数字电视的工作室，多个科学实验室；600多台电脑分布在学校实验室，学生公寓和教室.现代化的史密斯图书馆，配有电脑，有藏书150万卷，4000本电子图书和9000多本电子期刊杂志.学校可以保证学生大学四年的住宿，大部分的学生居住在校内的七个公寓和三个混和宿舍里，88%的大一新生选择在校内宿舍居住.校园里有近50个学生俱乐部和内部组织，17个大学体育运动队.该校学生十分活跃，常举办各种音乐会，舞会和校内的体育比赛。
