拉帕汉诺克社区学院
Rappahannock Community College
拉帕汉诺克社区学院是美国前总统托马斯・杰弗逊的一个梦想的实现，他的梦想是：未来的弗吉尼亚州建起一系列学院，使得每个居民能在距家一天的路程范围内的高等学院接受教育。将近200年之后的1969年，托马斯・杰弗逊的梦想实现了。来自13个县的代表会晤一处，决定建立一所社区学院。破土动工仪式于1970年举行。
学院共设有两处校园，一处在格伦斯县，另一处在华沙县，分别服务于拉帕汉诺克河两岸的居民，因此学院以此河的名字命名为拉帕汉诺克社区学院。一年后，学生开始来格伦斯校园报名上课。学院的继续教育、社区服务活动、图书馆在社区居民的生活中发挥着重要作用，是人们获得教育的主要来源，也是社区的文化中心。拉帕汉诺克社区学院提供在校学习课程与远程教育课程，可授予艺术与科学专科学位、应用科学专科学位及相关专业证书。
