新英格兰音乐学院
The New England Conservatory of Music
新英格兰音乐学院(New England Conservatory of Music)成立于1867年，是美国成立最早的独立的音乐学院。音乐学院创始人是Eben Tourjée，他的目标是在美国建立一个欧洲模式的音乐学院。学院刚成立一个月就吸引了392名学生。新英格兰音乐学院和波士顿交响乐团有着深厚的联系。1881年波士顿交响乐团成立时，19位音乐学院的教师成为交响乐团各乐器部的首席。直至今天，波士顿交响乐团大约一半的首席是新英格兰音乐学院的教师和校友。
2016世界音乐学院排名，新英格兰音乐学院在排名前50的院校中，美国大学占了17所。
其中新英格兰音乐学院全球音乐专业排名第8，全美音乐专业学院排名第6。
关于美国音乐学院的排名主要基于古典音乐的水准，所以排名靠前的学校古典音乐都很强，基本都有将近二百年的历史。
