美国肯尼索州立大学是一所公立综合性大学，以高质量的大学教育而闻名，可授予学士，硕士和博士学位。美国全国广播公司在其网页上公布了“the Princeton Review ”和“Entrepreneur”联合评选的美国年度50个顶尖企业家教育项目。肯尼索州立大学获得了荣誉提名。肯尼索州立大学现有学生3万余人，其中国际学生约1700人，来自136个国家和地区。2015年1月肯尼索州立大学与南方州立理工大学正式合并，新校名变更为肯尼索州立大学，并于同年12月进行了合并后首届毕业生毕业典礼。

肯尼索州立大学位于位于亚特兰大西北25英里处(1英里等于1.609公里)，美国的许多大学多位于中小城市里，左治亚州有29所大学和学院，其中只有8所在亚特兰大市区，要知道亚特兰大还是美国东南部的大城市，在1996年还举办过奥林匹克运动会．佛罗里达州有29所大学，其中只有2所大学在州府塔拉哈西（Tallahassee），其余都分散在州内各小城市。大学多集中在省府，其他城市几乎只有师范专科学校，最近几年师范专科学校改为地方综合性学院。
