国王学院学校
King`s College School
国王学院(King‘s College)是剑桥大学内最有名的学院之一，成立于1441年，由当时的英国国王亨利六世设立创建，因而得名“国王”学院。最初创立时只有1名院长和70名学生，全部来自伊顿公学。
当时国王学院是专门为亨利六世所创的伊顿公学的毕业生而建立的，不收其他学生。为了显示国王的雄厚财力，学院建立之初就追求宏伟壮观的建筑，而其建筑群中最著名的当属国王学院礼拜堂，它耸入云霄的尖塔和恢弘的哥特建筑风格已经成为整个剑桥市的标志和荣耀。
国王学院建于亨利六世，完成于亨利八世，整个建筑前后落成花了近一百年时间！最早这里曾是一个河边繁荣的集市，亨利六世看中了这块风水，决心将河岸的房主强制搬离，又是武力威胁，又是金钱利诱，花了三年时间总算盘剥下这块地，这可能是英国历史上最早的城市改造项目了。国王学院最引以为傲的历史是1689年，学院的师生们成功抵制国王任命来自三一学院的牛顿作国王学院院长的命令。
显示了国王学院的尊严和独立自主的精神。学院还以敢于创新闻名，据说在正式的晚宴上无须穿黑色学袍，也没有专为导师们设立的高桌，也无须在导师们入场时起立肃穆，因为人们认为，这些导师所值得人尊敬的是他们的学问，而不是他们的服饰和虚礼。原本由保守地国王一心建立的国王学院，如今却成了剑桥最激进的改革者，成为在礼节和等级方面最不正式的一个学院，这也许是当初的亨利六世所不能想象的吧。
