西洛杉矶大学是美国加利福尼亚州一所私立的、非盈利性质的法学院，该校成立于1966年，一共拥有两个校区。学校成立的初旨是为学生提供高品质低学费的教育机会。长期以来学校秉承初旨并发展成为家喻户晓备受国际以及美国社会认可的综合性大学。学校坚持高品质低学费的教学传统，通过知识的力量帮助学生提升自己从而改变命运。
学校初建时的使命就是要提供学生不太昂贵的法律教育，特别是对于那些在职的成年人，这一点也正体现了当初建立学校的教育家们的远见卓识。西洛杉矶大学法学院是是第一个提供晚间课程的法学院之一，以方便更多的社区学生接收法律教育。学校自1978年即得到加利福尼亚州法律委员会的认证。西洛杉矶大学提供法学博士学位以及法学培训毕业证书文凭，开设的课程主要有：法理学、宪法与行政法、经济法、刑法、国际法、国际经济法、劳动法与社会保障法、刑事法理论等。
